Too much sitting increases your risk of heart disease and can contribute to elevated cholesterol levels. Doctors from Ohio State University recently conducted a study in the effects of sitting for extended periods of time.

Brian White, president of Waukesha gas engines, said the new center will assist with both GE’s retention and recruitment efforts. Steelcase CEO Jim Hackett talks about how office design can influence worker productivity and happiness. Workplaces are moving from “I” spaces to “we” spaces to enhance collaboration which in turn promotes innovation. Steelcase’s own offices are a model for “we” spaces, as they have been constantly changing and updating since Jim Hackett took over as CEO in 1994.
The thought of Generation Y, aka Millennials, running the country by 2020 may be a scary thought to some, but it’s more than likely an inevitable reality. They have workplace priorities slightly different than previous generations, partly due to growing up with computers.
The Dangers of a Messy Desk

According to a new survey of over 1000 workers by staffing firm Adecco, a majority of Americans (57%) admit they judge coworkers by how clean or dirty they keep their workspaces. Meanwhile, nearly half say they have been “appalled” by how messy a colleagues’ office is and most chalk it up to pure laziness.
