Environmental Systems, Inc. (ESI), a pioneer in the building efficiency industry, wanted their new headquarters to reflect their corporate culture, break down the barriers between managers and support staff, and create open communication channels company-wide. And because the building was built to achieve LEED certification, ESI also wanted to partner with a team capable of implementing environmentally-sound practices and strategies.
From taking advantage of natural daylight and views to the exterior, to exploring individual control of task lighting fixtures and evaluating materials for recycled and rapidly-renewable content, the Forrer team was involved in a significant portion of the design and construction process, even prior to ground breaking.
In order to increase communication and encourage collaboration, Forrer worked with ESI to integrate lower-height workstation panels, eliminate private offices and create a combination of formal meeting rooms and informal touchdown spaces to support both planned and spontaneous meetings.
The end result is a LEED-Platinum certified work environment that promotes open communication and reflects ESI’s corporate culture while still supporting their people, process and day-to-day business activities.
“Thank you for the excellent work on our new building. It exceeds all of our expectations in terms of quality and design. As proud as we are of the building itself, we are equally proud to say that Forrer was involved in the project and of our relationship with your firm. Thank you for making our vision a reality. ”
